Covers

A cover performs a take again in a style you describe, keeping its structure and length. Both cover routes run on ACE-Step from the remix page.

Cover a take follows your prompt closely. This route genuinely does what it is told, which makes it the opposite of repaint.

Light cover is the same idea, but it stays much closer to the original recording.

Pick the first when you want a real reinterpretation. Pick the second when you want the same record with a different finish.

Prompt is required. What the cover should sound like: the genre, the instruments, and the kind of voice.

Lyrics are optional, and what happens when you leave them empty is the thing to know. This route does not read the words out of the take you gave it, so an empty lyrics box does not mean “keep the original words”. It means the cover comes back instrumental.

If you want it to sing, give it the words.

Steps and seed. A cover repeats exactly for the same seed.

A long take may not fit in video memory. This applies to both cover routes.

If a cover fails on a long track, try it on a shorter section first, or split the track in Audio tools and cover the halves.
